I find the grandeur and grace of large structures endlessly fascinating. I've been thinking about the "flyover" on the Route 6/10 Connector in Providence for some time. The big, blue swoop it makes to bring cars from Rt. 10 north to Rt. 6 west is so powerful. The challenge of this painting was the information - so much information in that space. I had to sort out what was important to me and leave the rest behind. In the end, it was that majestic curve.
